Class session #2 according to Matt!

Thanks all for your feedback.  This project touches on some strong feelings and emotions and as such I sometime dance around the edges of it.  Your objective eyes and minds are a big help and will continue to be.

Stuff I found that is germane to our in-class discussion today includes:

1)  Link to the photos and a little blurb about Taryn Simon's new project "The Bond Market"

2)  The abandoned housing I was talking about sits beneath a bluff adjacent to the beach at Jasper Beach in Machiasport, Maine.  Atop the bluff sits the old Distant Early Warning System Radar Tower which was operated and maintained by those housed below.  You can see both the tower and the neighborhood on Google Maps.  The housing area sits almost directly across the street from the beginning/end of Jasper's Beach Road.  Maybe this link will take you there:

The beach itself is quite a spot:

If you find yourself with a car and a long weekend free a drive to this part of the world is well worth it.  I did some work in the area years ago (and lived not too far away for many years) and was never less than awestruck by the natural beauty of the Maine coast.
